Hi,
The redo logs are not getting applied on the stand by database.

I tried this command:

alter database recover managed standby database disconnect;

It gave me

database altered

But still I am not seeing any difference in the log sequence number. Please help as the difference is around 1000 logfiles.

Regards,
Ritesh

Have you checked the database's alter log file to see what's going on?

Did you copy the password file to standby?
post the result of query.

•	SQL> Select Status, Error
from v$Archive_dest
where dest_id=2;

Check post date and OP last connexion date.
It appears it only connected the day he posted the question, so your answer is useless.
Let the topic die.
