Hi Guys,

I am Doing Data Guard in single Machine please find step

Primary Database (chicago) ---- Standby database (boston)

1) shutdown immediate
2) startup mount
3) alter database archivelog
4) alter database force logging
5) alter database open
----------------------------------
The Archiving path D:\Archive

6) creata pfile='D:\test.ora' from spfile
Make the neccessary change

7) copy the passwordfile
Cool shutdown immediate
9) copy the datafiles and redo log
10) oradim -new -sid boston -startmode manual
11) create pfile for boston and make neccessary changes

14) Startup the primary Database
15) startup nomount (standby database)
16) alter database mount standby database
17) alter database recover managed disconnect from session

..... Now the problem i could able sync with primary Database

0ra-16004 backup database requires recover

Please guide me

How did you manage to do this

16) alter database mount standby database
17) alter database recover managed disconnect from session

if you never created a standby controlfile?

And your log_archive_dest_1/2 parameters for boston are wrong.
