I am having trouble in setting the destination of the trace files while using sql_trace. I want to store the .trc file in c:\database but it does not want to work. I have tried
alter system set user_dump_dest=c:\database;
but that does not work.

Does any one have any ideas

Change this parameter in initSID.ora file (parameter file) and re start the oracle instance.
