Hey all,
We are in the process of specing out Unix systems. AIX, HPUX & TRU64 are being considered. I was curious what other DBAs thought of these platforms. What do you like or dislike? What are issues you have run into while managing DBs on these platforms? Any input would be VERY helpful.
THANKS! - Amy

HP/UX is known for some KAIO,Kernel Extension bugs requiring patches

I have seen Oracle mostly on AIX, Sun, and DEC machines.

If you are going to use Veritas LVM, etc., go for
AIX or Sun. Sun is the main target of industry developers and if anythings new is released it would probably on Sun.

All of my databases are on HP-UX. I've never had any major problems. Sun is just as good, but less expensive.
