Hi,

We are trying to convert form 32 bit Ibm Aix to Compaq 64 bit with Oracle 8i can anyone please tell me if there are some limitations on compaq or how to do the conversion. Are there any steps necessary before we do the conversion.

I'm sorry I can't help you out. I'm curious as to why you are moving off AIX. We are in the process of specing a UNIX system. I'm trying to get a feel from other DBAs as to which way to go. Any info you could pass on would be helpful.
Thanks,
Amy

As I recall, Oracle released its first 64-bit version on DU. Maybe it performs better than AIX in numbers...
