You consult your memory. Or your documentation. Or take a guess. Or search the disc(s). %DIAGNOSTIC_BASE%\rdbms\<db_name>\<instance_name>\trace is a good start.

You've gone an put DBA in your username and you don't know where the alert log is?
good grief.
Knowing that is one of the absolute most basic things any prospective DBA should know.

You really need to spend some time reading the documentation.

Cookie, John and all, BalajiDBA is just a resurgence of our old Balaji/Ajit/Jack/Mohan/Mathew/Suhas/Srini/JATIN/william/Srikanth/david/Srijesh/kadhirvel/Shiva/Chandra/srijesh/Suha/Robin/samba guy which showed no skill in DBA work not even read the documentation and to abuse multiple accounts (balaji1482, bala14, Database admin, Srini, suhasdba, srikanth02, ora_2014, Srijesh, mc1825263, oracle11, jg5111, robinmalik, sambadba1...)

This is what the previous guy claimed each time we told him until we showed him he couldn't hide.
If you are not him then you are his twin.

Typo != someone sticking DBA in their user name and not knowing where the alert log is.

Picking on typos is not a good come back in this situation.

Back at you.

"First write proper English and then give advice to others."

Picking on typos is not a good come back in this situation.
Especially when their own "comeback" concerning the use of the English language contains at least three errors in the use of the English language!
